Health Center to expand School-Based Behavioral Health Services in Lynn Public Schools

The Attorney General’s Office announced on May 20th that Lynn Community Health Center is one of 22 organizations to be awarded a grant through the “Access to and Measuring the Benefits of Providing Behavioral Health Services in Massachusetts” grant program targeting underserved populations in the state.

The health center will use the funding to expand behavioral health services through its School Based Health Center (SBHC) program in the Lynn Public Schools.

The National Association of Community Health Centers has launched an advocacy campaign entitled “Access is the Answer” to stop federal funding cuts to America’s Community Health Centers.  The goal of this campaign is to raise 500 signatures from every health center by May 31.  You can help by signing our petition to the US Congress here.  Please help us preserve access to healthcare for millions of Americans!  

LCHC Awarded $100,000 from Cummings Foundation

Mass Dental Society North Shore District supports training at LCHC

The North Shore District Dental Society, a component of the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS), today awarded $60,000 to the Lynn Community Health Center to improve the oral health of area residents.  The funds were raised through individual donations by members of the North Shore District and will be used to help expand the dental assistant externship program at Lynn Community Health Center.  This program supports dental clinic staff in becoming Certified Dental Assistants

Governor Patrick announces new grant program at LCHC

Governor Deval Patrick and Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development Rachel Kapreilian held a press conference at LCHC to announce the first grants from the new Health Care Workforce Transformation Fund.  This is a state fund created as part of Chapter 224 mandating increased quality and reduced costs in healthcare.  A collaboration between LCHC, Union Hospital, and SEIU1199 is one of 51 grantees that will develop projects to help train staff to meet the requirements of this act.  Our project will be to develop a training to help front line...
