LCHC receives HHS grant for cervical cancer screenings

Good news for Women’s Health! LCHC is proud to be one of 810 recipients of a Health and Human Services grant that will help increase the number of women screened for cervical cancer. Learn more in today’s announcement from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Annual Gala Save the Date: November 15

LCHC Chief Medical Officer Scott Early honored

Congratulations to LCHC Chief Medical Officer Dr. Scott Early, who was honored yesterday at the Laboure College “Illumination Gala” for his humanitarian work as part of the “The Steward Heroes of Haiti” who made so much of a positive difference for people affected by the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010.

Whole Foods 5% Day raises $3,500 for LCHC

Thank you to everyone who shopped at Whole Foods Swampscott during our “5%” day on September 12. The health center received $3,573 toward our building campaign. We especially appreciate Adrienne Kelliher, Stephanie Connolly, and Christine Cowden for staffing a table for us during the day.

LCHC Flash Mob

The Lynn Community Health Center staged a “flash mob” in August to celebrate National Health Center Week. We are proud to announce that a video of this event won a video contest held by the National Association of Community Health Centers. Lynn Health Center honors Wheelock’s Jackie Jenkins-Scott and Women’s Fund Paula Shorts

Jackie Jenkins-Scott, President of Wheelock College, and Paula Shorts, President of the Women’s Fund of Essex County, were honored by the Lynn Community Health Center at its inaugural “Women for LCHC Recognition Breakfast.” Guest Speaker Attorney General Martha Coakley spoke about the role Lynn Community Health Center has played in shaping the health care debate, locally and nationally. Lynn Community Health Center Celebrates 40 Years

Event honored CEOs of Partners HealthCare and North Shore Medical Center

In 40 years, Lynn Community Health Center has grown from a storefront facility that served 500 patients in its first year into a multi-site health center that serves more than 34,000 patients yearly. On November 3, it celebrated this milestone at “Building for the Future: 40 Years and Growing.”

Dr. Stephen D. Hayes - Beloved Colleague, Mentor and Friend

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the Lynn Community Health Center mourns the death of Dr. Stephen D. Hayes, who died Saturday, May 28, 2011. Dr. Hayes was a child and adult clinical psychologist, psychoanalyst and addiction specialist who practiced in Salem, Lynn, and Brookline. He was a remarkably accomplished individual who held three doctorates and two board certifications, and many state and national awards and recognitions for his work.
